Film history from the 1990's to the 1950's

1990'S

The above is the trailer from a film called Fatal attraction. The women can be seen as being represented in two different ways. She is represented as the Madonna in this clip as we see a soft calm and comforting side to her. On the other hand she is also represented as the Whore due to having sex with a married man in the lift puts a negative representation on the women. The women in this scene can also be represented as cruel and evil. Therefore this film as a negative impact on women. We can see that as time goes on women's roles have changed dramatically they are taking over Anny roles and in many cases they are the main protagonists. Also they are not viewed as sex objects as much as before they are viewed as more in dependant and individual.

1980's

Aliens

This is a film from the 1980's. we can see that moving on to the 198o's films are starting to include more women in the main protagonist role films. we can see that the women is holding a gun representing that she is capable of doing anything a man does and does not just have to stay at home being the main nurture. In this trailer the women is taking on a very masculine role showing to the audience than women can do the same roles that men are associated with doing.

1970's

Starwarz

This series of starwarz relates to the theorist Sharon Smith (1972) her quote is The role of a woman in a film almost always revolves around her physical attraction and the mating games she plays with the male characters. This quote relates to starwarz due to them women being very beautiful and maybe seductress suggesting that this is the way she gets what she wants by sexual act ivies and also through her image.

1960's

The sound of music

The sound of music represents women as the Madonna. She is represented as a women who is extremely innocent, caring and giving therefore she always has children around her and lives to do everything she can for the children.

1950's the High noon

We can see that this film is extremely male dominated due to their not being one female in the trailer. This shows that films front he 1950's are mostly all male dominated due to them believing that the male has all the power and therefore the film will be getting much more of an audience as they can associate with the man more than the women.
